A new study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health highlights how mobile clinics can improve chronic disease management, particularly for patients with high blood pressure. The research examined patients receiving care at The Well of Healing Mobile Medical Clinic in Southern California, a no-cost, faith-based clinic providing primary care directly in the community. Among patients with hypertension, those who visited the clinic more frequently were significantly more likely to achieve better blood pressure control over time. The findings reinforce the value of consistent, community-based care in reducing the risk of serious complications like stroke and heart attack. The study also notes that while visit frequency improved hypertension outcomes, additional supports may be needed to improve diabetes control, offering important insights for organizations designing mobile care models to address a range of chronic conditions.
